Flower Profile
Written By Dishonor
She felt none of the foreboding crackling in the air that she usually did before the lightning bolt struck. This time there had been no warning at all and she had almost breathed a sigh of deep relief at the guessing skills of the pet standing before her. Frothing at the mouth, completely dazed from the impact of the bolt and the shock of having all the charge transferred to her body, Flower lit up as the electricity charged through her. A few green leaves surrounding the ruff of her neck shriveled and became consumed, turning to ash. It took her a while to recover. She never did know how long it would take her, and in her sickened state, she honestly did not care. That was beyond her notice. Whenever the lightning bolt struck, it was all she could do to keep on going.
But something had been different with this stroke of lightning. There had been no indication that the pet standing before her would be incorrect. Rather, she had almost been readying herself for the leaping, the smiles, the exultation. Why...?
And then she suddenly knew. It was a message, without question. With a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, she realized that it was time to pay a visit back home.
Name: Flower Cedrus
Species: Cheran
Gender: Female
Appearance: Short and somewhat thinner than the average young Cheran, with extra-large ears that make Flower somewhat resemble a Jumboyo. Usually eager and bright, appearing as though she is thinking with a mischievous expression, but sometimes, as a side effect of her occupation, will turn into a dazed, electrocuted "mockery" of herself.
Residence: Darkwood Hollow, but somewhere, somehow, there is a darker home, a place she does not want to remember...
Occupation: Runs Number Guess, which calls on pets to guess a number between 1-100 with any number of tries.
Of Flower's past, only the legends speak. They said that she had once been someone no one would cross, someone everyone would fear. It was not on account of her temperment but rather of her lineage, the powerful magical forces that stirred in her blood, the darkness that whipped around, writhing within her. Her mother had been a minor healer of little repute in Jumboyo Village and it was there, by the sacred fire that held her village together, standing beside the high priest of Jumboyo, where she first felt the stirrings. They had made her blood dance with the fluidity of the rushing waters of Lake Auberon, had let her feel the power and exult in it, the darkness, the heady sense of strength.
So be it, she had whispered. So be it.
With the support of the high priest, she had taken the reins of the village. The council could not withstand the magic she wielded without restraint. She had rewarded her supporters well with influential positions in the village hierarchy and had then given the high priest full authoritarian control. With corruption riddling Jumboyo's leadership the villagers themselves turned lax in their worship of Pandoria as they feared for their very survival. Afraid to leave their dwellings for fear that they might evoke the spontaneous displeasure of one of the powerful ones in the village, the people let their fields go to waste and their hearths fill with gray ash for there was no way to collect firewood. Slowly, the once bright sacred fire faded, its red flame turned to smoldering ash. And so, this is how the story ends, by the dying embers in the heart of Jumboyo village.
