A Mistican's Guide To Camping, Part II
Written By Fallout
So now that your sandwiches are safe, where will you sleep at night? Well, as it turns out, the wilderness is full of places to sleep and materials for makeshift shelters!
First, there are natural shelters like caves. Using your Ursa Out inarbu repellent, evict those nasty inarbi from their home so that you may invade it like cooties on Infestation day! Once you have four rocky walls and a ceiling, you're free to set up shop as though you own the place! Just remember to sleep with one eye open in case the inarbu decides he wants his home back.
There are also many holes that you might find. Sometimes you have to remove the zisscors from them, but other times, you'll find them completely vacant, save for the warren of rickets that aren't too happy with you for camping out in their living room. Ignore those nasty rickets, because you are truly the dominant race, and that makes their home yours! Just remember that rickets and zisscors have a nasty bite and can hold a grudge like an embittered anya, so make sure to keep a stick to fight them off with if they get too rowdy.
But taking someone else's home is the weenie's way out, right? After all, there's no skill displayed in taking over a cave rather than building your own home. So grab some branches and get a building! First, gather up the branches and tie them together with a vine or other suitable object so that they form a pyramid. Then cover the pyramid with leaves. Proceed to watch as it falls over with the slightest gust of wind and then get angry and rage quit.
Or maybe you prefer to sleep outside, on the ground in a sleeping bag, but don't want to get wet if it rains in the middle of the night. Use those same vines to weave a web-like pattern sturdy enough to support the rain and then gather up the largest leaves you can find to weave them together until you have a sturdy, tarp-like structure. Tie it to the trees so that it's positioned above you. Voila! Nothing short of runoff can make you wet now!
Tune in next month for the final part, how to find your way back home without a map!
