Revelry!
Written By Aurora
On February 23rd, strange howling arose from Baineshee swamp and Misticans held their breath in anticipation. Many knew that these strange sounds came from a fearsome beast known as the Rougarou, but what many did not know was what he was planning.
The previous year, the Rougarou had challenged Misticans on a dangerous quest. The ones who succeeded were rewarded with great riches, but many bank accounts were emptied in the process.
As usual, us Misticans were curious about what was coming and the forums exploded into a frenzy of questions. However, the sneaky penguins had silenced the only ones with the answers, much to our disappointment.
But we did not have long to wait. As soon as the Rougarou set up shop in that smelly swamp of his, the whole site erupted with excitement. Usernames flashed red and strange items began appearing in inventories. Galleries were stuffed with treasures that brave Misticans had been able to buy from the beast.
Each new news post was greeted with eager comments as users became buried with beads and hats. Unlike the cooties and lovebugs from the last event, these treasures did not lurk at every page, waiting to bite. As a result, these purple, green, and gold goodies were welcomed with open arms.
This time, known as The Revelry, has been a huge success site-wide. It is plots like this that bring the community even closer and allow us to do our favorite thing- bombard each other. The Revelry has ignited a series of forum topics concerning tossing, collections, goods, and even the Rougarou himself. Even the younger users, though they cannot post on the new topics, have found their inventories and safeboxes stuffed with masks, toss balls, and necklaces.
All in all, the event has been a great experience for everyone and we will be sorry to see the Rougarou leave (even though he scares a good amount of us). But there is always next year when his schemes will return, bringing more surprises to the land of Mistica.
