Solus the Blind

Near the mysterious Lighthouse on the grassy plains lives an old Ahbruis by the name of Solus. No one really knew his true age, but his white fur had become matted and was a dull grey color. He was also completely blind and lived alone on the outskirts of a small village. Many villagers speculated about Solus, but the most popular rumor was that Solus had been banned from his homeland for a crime, and his punishment was losing his sight. The small village had also banned Solus from ever entering into the village and threw rocks at him whenever he wandered too close to the village walls. It seemed Solus never cared about his ill treatment, though; he never flinched as a rock hit his head and he never ran away. He would always continue on the path, wherever his feet carried him. No one really understood why Solus would prowl the outskirts of the village until one particular day.

A young Obsideon by the name of Rem was Solus’ interest. Unknowing to the villagers, Solus had sworn to the young pup’s dying parents that he would watch over Rem. Solus had made the promise when he was already blind and he knew that he lacked the abilities to properly take care of a growing Obsideon. Under the cover of night and before Rem’s eyes had even opened, Solus had traveled to the small village and left him under the care of a family he knew would be good to Rem. Solus, however, could not leave Rem completely and he would travel everyday to see how the young Obsideon was doing.

Rem had been too young to remember Solus, but he was always curious about him every time he saw him. The villagers had kept Rem away from Solus as much as possible until one day, Rem decide to find Solus on his own. He left the village to begin his search, but managed to find trouble instead; a wild Haruba attempted to attack him. Lucky for Rem, Solus intervened and easily defeated the Haruba with hardly any effort.

Rem had been stunned that he had been saved by an old blind Ahbruis.  Solus only chuckled as he picked Rem up to carry him home, “Long ago I use to be a royal warrior for the king and maybe one day I will be again…”
