This Month in Mistica: July '13

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

 

The Diamond Glacier Domain experienced a bit of a heat wave, courtesy of the ruby red July Kohal! Queen Boreal, unhappy about this blight upon her pristine kingdom, promptly banished many of the poor creatures to the icy wilderness. On a happier note, July 1^st we also celebrated the birthday of our wonderful artist Oceancrest! An adorable little pal was released to honor the occasion, and Makoto wasted no time getting his paws on it.

 

The next day the Credit Shop and Vending Machines received their usual monthly updates.

 

On the 3^rd, we welcomed two new staff members to the Mistican team! Dovahkiin joined as the Media Moderator and Captain became a new Moderator! Trades also received updates and some seasonal July items began stocking again.

 

And then Independence Day was upon us! Two sparkly new avatars were released and the Delight Pixie was flying around, giving out Member Appreciation Bags.

 

Kandie decided to take advantage of kids being out of school and released new candies on the 5^th. Dentists everywhere rejoiced.

 

On the 8^th, we celebrated Dovahkiin’s birthday, and a shiny new hatchipal was released!

 

Yet another birthday was celebrated the very next day. July 9^th we all wished our awesome site owner Zarabeythe a big happy birthday, and then went to go stalk a bunch of shops for the gorgeous new items released in her honor. In addition to the items, a whole new site feature was released: you can now send lovely wrapped gifts to friends any time of the year, not only on Mistmas!

 

The next day the regal Overgrowth Gurahdi was discovered.

 

On the 11^th, we met Pinny, a Voodoo Skillow who longs to be a real Skillow! At the same time, imps and sprites were choosing sides. What could be going on?

 

The next day, the Pomme Tree began growing  two new pommes, the Princess Pomme and King Pomme. Achievements also received an update and Spotlight winners were announced.

 

On the 15^th contest voting was announced. However, we also met a curious character, one who looks an imp but with the stature of a sprite. How odd…

 

The next day, sprites and imps began officially choosing sides on site, not just through Alliances. We also met Lycoris, a beautiful lady garbed colors so vibrant that even Princess Aisling herself would be jealous? Unfortunately for her, the lovely Lycoris is an imp, and an outcast.

 

Item rarities were changed on the 17^th, with several new categories added.

 

Jeremy has been hard at work, and released four adorable new hatchi plushies on the 18^th! And if you like hatchipals, maybe you should give Cheshire a visit; he has a cute new prize, and you could also win an Allyce Dress or Hatter’s Suit.

 

The very next day Darkwood Hollow revealed two new residents: the Daydream and Nightmare Tarinookis!

 

Lycoris’s fantastic dress inspired someone in Mistica to create the July Regal Tag! Buy this tag in the Credit Shop and receive one of many gorgeous butterfly-inspired clothing items, available for all legendaries.

 

Gordon showed up on the 22^nd with new dishes and some sauce to spice them up! Even better, interest rates at Mistica’s bank were changed, and for the better! Good thing too, with all these new items to buy.

 

The next day we got a glimpse of Lycoris’s life as she was set upon by her fellow imps, who hate her for her colorful beauty.

 

An imp vs. sprite pillow fight started on the 24^th. We also celebrated WhiteFoxFire’s birthday with an adorable new pal!

 

On the 25^th pet facts began showing up in the How to Care For a… books. Every week five will be released, and you’ll find the facts as well as care information in the same book. Later that day, Pinny finally set out on his journey to become a real skillow!

 

Adam returned on the 27^th, the sprite cursed by nightmares. Living alone in a castle close to Dire Morana, he keeps the sunlight out and has no hope for real happiness.

 

The pound received a bunch of updates on the 28^th, and Zulime warned of a temporary closing of her shop happening the following Sunday.

 

On the 29^th, we met Lycoris and Pinny again. They bumped into each other on the road and headed together towards King Blithe, hoping for guidance.

 

July ended on a bit of a sad note as we saw that imps had raided Adam's stash of pommes. Undeterred by his beastly looks, daydream creatures across Darkwood Hollow banded together to help him! Unfortunately, the nightmare pals got in on the action too, stealing pommes back from their colorful counterparts to hinder their efforts.

 

Our three newest heroes are on separate journeys...for now.
