This Month in Mistica: February '13
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

Queen Boreal, probably in a rather testy mood after having half her castle trampled over Mistmas, kicked out several Kohals after finding them turning amethyst!

The next day the Vending Machine got an update and Spotlight winners were announced.

Early Infestation preparations began on the 4th, with some old favorite items being stocked again in the shops. Three new artists were also added to our art team! Later that day, the Credit Shop itself received an update and revamp.

The very next day, the cooties and lovebugs descended upon Mistica! Pink swarms blotted out sunlight and made the ground crawl under your feet, though the biting hadn’t begun yet. Maybe to ease fears, Rosebud began offering cards and heart candies.

New cooties, lovebugs and Infestation cards appeared on the 6th. Achyrli also began stocking six new art pieces.

It was Book Day on the 7th! Aibrean added ten new books to Mistica’s Library and commenced with her monthly Q&A for various prizes in the forums.

Two days later, the Kratork, Izabel, Skillow and Lirionox were all found to be Infested!

Infestation isn’t just for us land dwellers. The Sea Witch began stocking three adorable new pink pals on the 11th, and above the water, Pandoria had a new heart-patterned hatchipal.

On the 12th, Rosebud got a new stock of lovely two-petaled flowers, as well as her usual tulips, roses and daisies.

Lance wasn’t about to let all the other shopkeepers have the fun! New dresses, hairdos and even a gorgeous silver necklace appeared in his shop on the 13th. In the Giveaway, it looked like Whacking Day was coming early with a Chinese New Year Znake!

The Hug Bug appeared on the 14th and the biting commenced! Luckily he came bearing Infestation Potions, so maybe that soothed some lovesick souls a little (or made it worse).

The next day Infestation was done, but the Hug Bug stuck around to take home some of his pesky brethren. In return, you could now turn your Cheran, Mericai, Gurahdi, Gourix, Inarbu or Haruba Infested!

Infestation was crazy for everyone, especially someone who studies wildlife. Dr. Erlenmeyer got a little behind on her studies and so set up a new quest, calling on Misticans to help her collect pals. In return, you could receive all sorts of science-y goodies as prizes. Collect them all and get a medal!

On the 18th, a few Infested latecomers showed up: the Phelocan, Tarinooki, Belragoth, Comeil, Koko and Jinx.

The next day, the desert is where the swarms were found! Bakr must have been busy as a plethora of new pals showed up in his shop on the 19th.

Two days later, Tormic also added some diversity to his selection of pals.

On the 22nd, we said happy birthday to our wonderful artist, Thanatoast! A fierce little dragon was released in Creepy Critters to celebrate, alongside some other creepy new pals.

The 23rd marked the beginning of Revelry! Bayou Benni showed up with his accordion and the tossing of colorful items began!

The 25th found the Rougarou still sleeping, so Bayou Benni ventured out from the swamp to avoid waking the beast. He found Heartsong Music and seemed quite taken with the lovely Harmony!

Inspired by the music of Revelry, Harmony released a whole collection of drum kits and music stands the next day.

On the 27th Harmony, pleased with the success of her new items, was organizing her shop after the noisy day before. Benni, back in the swamp, heard the telling growls of the disturbed Rougarou...

February was short, but we've been bitten, stuffed full of sweets and then commenced tossing random objects at one another. Still, we have a sleeping monster to contend with!
