A Guide to Boxing Your Pet: Lanturnaucht Edition
Written By puredream
Lanturnacht is upon us as ghastly pets prepare to scare little Misticans silly, or for the kinder hearted, pass out questionable treats. With all this fun it is little wonder that at least one of your pets will be begging for a chance to go as a Lanturn or Phantom this year.
In this special edition of “A Guide to Boxing Your Pet” we of the Know Nothing Party will explore the potential of boxing your pet as a specter or as a pumpkin this Lanturnacht.
Phantom-
Note: This box is not for the faint of heart!
In order for a pet to pull off this ghastly theme, you and your dear companion must ask yourselves the following:
1. Does your pet like scaring others?
2. Does he or she have the habit of sneaking up on others, meaning to or not?
3. Does he or she like to sulk in corners for days?
4. How frequently does your pet walk through walls successfully or attempt to walk through walls? Once a week? Twice? Never?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions (or “Almost daily” to number four) then a phantom pet may be right for you! But if not, don’t be discouraged. Phantom pets are complex, multidimensional beings that can take on many personalities!
If your pet has a dark soul, a tragic past, AND is a vegetarian then this potential theme may seem extremely plausible. Or perhaps, your pet is/was currently boxed storm, but then they accidentally stuck their tail in a light socket and now crave a new theme that doesn’t involve brain cells. What better way to show that silly creature what it could have been if it wasn’t pixels?
When concerned with a character plot, there is more than just death to consider. If your pet has died a gruesome death then perhaps look into an apocalyptic theme first. You must also consider if your little specter is an outcast or a loner since very few pets have the ability to see these guys throughout the year let alone talk to them. You must also look deep down into your pet’s character and ask if they are sad or misunderstood.
Regardless, if your pet has unfinished business or not, the phantom box is for you if you have considered any of the above!
Lanturn-
Perhaps your pet is not up to the rigors of haunting, but prefers to dress up and pass out sweets or play tricks instead? For those that love the holiday, but want to show their spirit in a warmer way, this box has the solution! However, before you allow your pet to take home one you must consider a few things:
1. Is your pet afraid of the Headless Horseman or pumpkins in general? Do you want him or her spending eternity afraid of their own reflection? If not then don’t consider this box.
2. Is your pet afraid of sharp objects? More importantly are they afraid of sharp objects coming at their heads once a year to carve a gorgeous pumpkin? This may be a real concern, but if it isn’t we suggest getting your pet lots of pommekin pie and a good hiding place for the month of October.
3. If your pet is sensitive then think: Do you want your pet to be called Pumpkin Head for the rest of its life?
Once these concerns are thrown out the window it is time to make sure that the Lanturn pet fits your character idea! Did something happen on Lanturnacht to make them this way? Was a curse put on your pet to turn them into a monster? Does your pet have a creepy personality, but shares some good qualities? Or perhaps your pet is the spirit of Lanturnacht?
Regardless, if any of the above has been considered this box is highly recommended!
Now remember to never force a box on your pet. If the theme doesn’t feel right then consider another. They will thank you in the long run if you just hold off. With that said, this ends another edition of “A Guide to Boxing Your Pet”. The We Know Nothing Party thanks you and bids you a Happy Lanturnacht!
