Character Spotlight: Tormic

Tormic is a long-time resident of Darkwood Hollow and owner of Forest Misticpals. He is one of the first sprites many Misticans encounter and one of the friendliest. And despite his shorter stature, he is more than capable of handling the darker creatures found in the forest. However, these few facts are all most Misticans know of him; few actually stick around and chat with this shopkeeper.

For instance, did you know Tormic's favorite food is tomato soup? He also enjoys visiting Gordon in Mistic Cuisine during his breaks for a hot cup of herbal tea. Being a sprite, he also enjoys art, music, and sculpture. He was one of the first to tour the new gardens in Mistic Kingdom, and according to Joel, Tormic has returned several times since during each season to see all the different blooms. However, Tormic refused to answer our questions about the status of a significant other in his life.

He founded Forest Misticpals when Darkwood Hollow was first becoming a center of trade for the whole forest. He carefully caught several wild Misticpals (don't worry SPNHM, he uses humane traps) and raised them to be more docile. Tormic then sold them to local sprites, who were so happy by their new companions that the demand for his business increased and took off. Many of his customers today still compliment Tormic on the health and personality of the pals that he sells. That being said, it is also advised that new customers follow all directions to raise their Misticpals with love and care lest they find themselves on the business end of claws or teeth.

However, things haven't always been easy for Tormic. One of the more famous incidents involved his sales of Nightmare Misticpals to the general public. Needless to say, the Imps did not and do not like seeing their pals in the hands of a sprite merchant. This conflict escalated into one of the many wars between these two factions. Under order of Pandoria, the two sides compromised, allowing Tormic to sell these Misticpals in limited supply for a limited time each year.

In conclusion, Tormic has been a valuable citizen and merchant of Darkwood Hollow despite complaints about him from the Imps (but then, are Imps ever happy about anything?). He does genuinely look out for the welfare of his Misticpals and is always looking for a warm and loving home for them. During downtimes, please feel free to join him over a cup of tea and get to know him for yourself.
