This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!


 


February is always a big month for celebration, and this year was no different! Infestation had us all swooning and then Benni rang in Revelry with some of his trademark tunes.


 


On the first, we congratulated the winners for the art, writing and poetry contests: Silcoonsixx, Flesh and Breeze; Pastiche, JuneBerry and black_shadow; JessiCosmic, wonderwall and poppygold5!


 


Just a few days later the Vending Machine was pretty in pink with a bunch of new items to be had. Rumors floated around about a few lost Pet Slot Coins finding their way into the Vending Machine, too…


 


On the 7th Lance released some catty hoodies for our Legendaries to enjoy.


 


And on the 10th the Infestation began! Lovebugs and cooties covered the world of Mistica in unstoppable swarms, and our savvy shopkeepers got in on the action. Rosebud and Maury collaborated once again to deliver Heart Candies and Infestation Cards, and of course everyone busted out their love-themed items over the next few days.


 


But Lance surpassed everyone on the 14th with a huge release of clothing, hairstyles, and accessories! A few new cooties and lovebugs were discovered to make collecting just a bit more challenging, and two new additions in the form of a hatchipal egg and Legendary background showed up in the Credit Shop.


 


The next day we said happy birthday to one of Mistica’s wonderful writers, Amethyst! A beautiful new necklace was released in her honor. The Credit Shop also had a small sale.


 


The 18th dawned and Officer Coppa was patrolling the streets, taking a break from zombie duty to warn Misticans about the Love and Heart Sicknesses that come with the Infestation. Kandie and Rosebud did their parts to help afflicted pets by stocking up and marking down their sweets and Love Potions!


 


The next day voting for the contests opened!


 


Ten days after the massive Infestation began, it started to die down. The Hug Bug, noticing this, showed up to ask for help in returning some of his wayward kin home. In return, he gave out Infestation Potions for every thirty lovebugs/cooties turned in, which turned your pet into a whole new color! Half of Mistica’s population can be affected by these potions, but for the rest, there’s always next year.


 


Even with the last cootie and lovebug buzzing away, we still hadn’t seen the last of the color pink. On the 21st the new Pink Collection was released! The Art Team also opened up applications for team members and a lead.


 


The 22nd saw a big happy birthday for our oh so talented artist Thanatoast! Clayton released a delicious new cupcake (which is also a wearable) to celebrate. The Credit Shop had another sale, in which Pet Slot Coins were marked down 15%, and Lance released a new curly hairstyle for Legendaries.


 


The next day we started another party. Bayou Benni, as usual, began Revelry by waking everyone with his music…everyone but the Rougarou! He continued to sleep, right through the happy birthdays that rang out for Stacy and Lolly! A mysterious purple Pomme and a lovely little kitty were released just for them.


 


On the 27th Benni was still making noise, and some denizens of the Banshee Swamp weren’t liking it! Zulime closed up her poppet shop in her frustration – hopefully no one else follows her example. But to cheer us up, more new Revelry items were released for our tossing pleasure!


 


The 28th meant the near end of February, but Revelry was still going strong and Harmony decided to close out the month with even more music! She released a bunch of new instruments; hopefully it’s enough to wake up the Rougarou!
