This Month in Mistica: November '11
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

I hope you recovered from your yearly Lanturnaucht sugar coma, because November had even more food to tempt you!

First, a congratulations to our Art, Poetry and Writing contest winners: Requiemism, Obsideon, Jesicat; JessiCosmic, Obsideon, Unnamed; Supersheep, Raine and Lillium!

The 2nd saw the usual Treasure Box and Vending Machine updates, all with a huge assortment of new items!

On the 4th, Erika stocked up on amazing new fruity cookies! Sunny was quick to point out they’re still just as sugary as regular cookies; Misticans reported the cookies were too yummy for them to care.

And four days later Harmony blasted into the month with a huge new stock of drums and drumsticks. Hopefully you all have understanding (or deaf) neighbors.

Two days later, the lovely Zodiac Comeil was released.

The 12th had contest reminders, and Keilly releasing some delicious new waffles and pancakes!

On the 17th we got a look behind the scenes of beautiful Mistican art. Deedlitmon was kind enough to post up the steps she took to create the Phantom Zokuleon, from the rough sketch to the finished piece.

The next day we began anniversary celebrations a little early with our first set of Misticpet Acrylic Charms! Available as necklaces or keychains, these adorable little pieces of art were sold for $10 apiece.

On the 21st a bunch of new avatars were released for you hunt down (found them all yet? Me neither). We also welcomed Lolly to our awesome team of artists! And a reminder was also posted about Mistic’s Cafepress store, where we sell real life Mistic-themed merchandise – perfect for indoctrinating your friends!

The next day the Ugly Mistmas Sweater Contest began! The winner gets their sweater made into a wearable onsite.

And of course on the 24th, the Feast of Giving! A whole ton of new food was released as well as some old favorites, and the Giveaway held an adorable little handprint turkey. It was also my (Caustic’s) birthday, and a Hippogriff was released! Yes, we have a Hippogriff, guys. And a magic broomstick. My dreams have pretty much come true.

Black Friday was celebrated Mistic style, with a big Credit Shop sale and retired treasure bags and boxes available! A few high demand items also had discounts.

On the 26th, a community project was posted: Last year, we worked with the Angel Tree program to provide clothing and toys for several children.  This year, JCPenney and the Salvation Army allowed us to create a 'group', so we can invite the community to join with us in adopting Angels.

For more details on how to participate, please see the newspost for November 26th, 2011.

The 28th was Mistic’s four year anniversary! We celebrated in style with some super shiny and amazing avatars, and then the Delight Pixie got in on the action with piñatas! Each one has a key, and using the link in the description, you can play a game in which you open a chest with the key to collect anniversary items. If you collect them all, you get a collection medal!

All that eating and celebrating didn’t tire you out too much, right? Because Mistmas is coming, and that means Aurelius, Queen Boreal and MeriKlaus! It’s like a bad sitcom with those three every year, only Boreal never learns the moral at the end of the episode like she’s supposed to.
