An Odd Mistmas Finding

This is Rosebud reporting from Darkwood Hollow, where a great deal of activity has been sighted! An odd group of Sprites on the edges of Prince Arman and Princess Aisling's rule have been causing a bit of a ruckus.


 


With the Holidays on their way, these Sprites are currently preparing the biggest Mistmas tree the land of Mistica has ever known (or so they say). On the outskirts of Darkwood Hollow they seemed to have found a large oak tree they deemed suitable. The Sprites have built scaffolds and catwalk planks between them. The tree is surrounded by the precariously built structure. Strangely enough, the Sprites have forgotten that they have wings.


 


An interview with a particularly splendid Sprite, Sir PerpleWig III goes as follows


 


Q. Why did the Sprite Community pick an Oak Tree to decorate for Mistmas?  Usually Misticans use Evergreens.


A. The Oak Tree gets lonely on Mistmas. It has the right to be pretty too.


 Q.Why did you build the scaffold structure around the tree? Sprites can fly, can’t you?


 A. Ummmm, that is a good question. We cannot hover in one spot to hang ornaments and fix candles to the branches.  We can only flutter. Besides, our wings are on our backs, not our fronts. Out of sight, out of mind.


Q. What kind of ornaments will you be hanging?


A. We are considering hanging Daydream Chipuffs because they are soft and it’s fun to listen to them squeak. We are trying to teach them to sing ”Jingle Bells”.  Which is difficult because they each squeak a different tone. So we have to sort out baritones from Trebles and Sopranos to get the song right.


 


At that moment, a branch of the Oak Tree catches fire and Spites are fleeing with terrified squeals in all directions, forgetting yet again that they can fly.  


 


This is Rosebud reporting, and I must say, let us hope that the rest of Mistmas proceeds with better results.
