It's been one full year since I joined Misticpets as a staff writer. And although my experience with Misticpets goes back farther than this, this past year has been awesome. But to show the full picture, I'm going to explain my full Mistica experiences from the beginning to show just why things have been so awesome.

I joined Misticpets after more trouble than anyone needs to go to on a different website. I have loved virtual pets for many years and was looking for something similar to allow me to raise virtual pets while away at college. Then I met the Tarinooki and fell in love. These cute little crittters have every single trait I think is charming in a pet, and if it were possible, I'd adopt an entire army of them. Well, needless to say, I joined on the spot. And have not regretted it since.

I was amazed by the high quality of artwork Mistica produces. I have yet to find a virtual pet website that has the detail, imagination, and intriguing aesthetics as this site. Should you ever get the chance, all the artists here deserve a round of applause for their work.

In addition, I loved the friendly, almost family-like atmosphere. The administrators were active in the forums, owned up to any mistakes, and incorporated many user ideas into the site. In addition, the Mistica economy wasn't over-inflated, nor were there billions of impossible-to-obtain achievements and trophies. Misticpets has always been a very practical, imaginative, and welcoming site.

And so when the opportunity came to apply for a staff position, I leapt at the chance. I was even more thrilled when I was offered the position. I have thoroughly enjoyed working behind the scenes to give the world details, dimension, and voice. It has been a blast seeing the various lands open, characters develop, and holidays celebrated. In addition, seeing the staff come up so many amazing ideas to implement in secret has been exciting. Every staff member's focus is on what the users will enjoy most. It has been so fun to be a part of those plans and contribute things that Misticans will enjoy to bring this world to life even more.

I am sure this upcoming year will be even more thrilling as we have many surprises up our sleeves. I can't wait to work on these surprises and use words to give voice and expression to the upcoming holidays. I do hope that you, dear reader, have been enjoying this world has much as I have been. And it's only going to get better.
