Ask the Moon: August Edition
Written By Valkyrie
Summer fun is waning, even if the heat is still on! No more sleeping in (except for weekends) and it's back to the grind for many of us. Got that "returning to school" funk going on? Issues with siblings? Your wantonly depleted bank account got you down? Romance isn't all it's cracked up to be? I'm happy to listen to you talk about it, and who knows, maybe throw a little Lunar wisdom your way.
The Moone is in~
Akeela_Pyro had this to ask:
What do you do when you basically have *no* life in summer: in other words, stuck at home cause most of your friends are guys and your parents won't let you hang out with them because of that reason, or they're 18+ and your parents are insanely protective? (I mean, come on, I am FIFTEEN! I can take care of myself!!!)
Dear Akeela,
I had an impulsive pup once... I ate her.
You could remind them of how fortunate they are to have a daughter of your caliber. Invite the nastiest, most visual nightmare of an adolescent girl into your home (picture a mix of a Jumboyo and an terror Anya) and tell your parent she needs “guidance” (in my family we call that “bait and shuffle”). Hopefully, they will be so distracted, that you can then move about your life undeterred.

From Dragonfly we received:
I'd like to ask why it is we aren't able to view Art Gallery entries in full? We are able to click on the image but a message pops up saying that the image has not been approved for viewing. Surely it has or it wouldn't be visible in the first place. I was wondering if one day we will be able too? Sometimes I feel that the detail is lost in the compressed image. and being able to see the image in its full glory would be better
Dear Dragonfly,
I have consulted the stars, I spoke at length with the wind high on the Diamond Glacier Domain. I crawled on my belly before the mighty Volcan and I discovered... zip, zilch, nada. A brain more technical than mine is required here.
However, I do have a suggestion for Famine: Now that you are stuck here in Mistica, you will be needing gainful employment. There is a fat farm that would appreciate someone of your erm... skills. The last dietician they hired couldn't say no to the clients asking for sticky buns, resulting in a Mistic-Wide shortage of polyester pants with stretch waist bands (to this day none are available). Surely you could do better?

My faithful reader Masterpiece and her pet Bare submitted:
How does one recover one's memory, when they know nothing of their past?
Dear Bare,
My Great Granny Moone had a memory trick that she said works pretty well. You will need a large rubber band. Fit it around your head. Now, try to remember what you forgot. Still can't remember? Stretch the rubber band out as far as you can then, let go. Try again to remember.
Repeat process until it works.
I never said she was bright, I just said she was my Granny.

Rhythm and Cupcake teamed up and sent this interesting question!
Cupcake:
I caught a little Twiker the other day because he looked dirty and needs a bath. He doesn't like to stay still, so how on earth do I make him clean again? *giggles*
Dear Cupcake,
One dollar in change, a motorcycle helmet and an automatic car wash -- that was my first response. After considerable thought on the matter... I still say: one dollar in change, a motorcycle helmet and an automatic car wash + duct tape. Good luck!

From Monsono the question was:
I'm not sure how old you are Moone, but perhaps you might know. The world of Mistica is big and has been around for a bit of time. However, I'd like to know what happened in the very beginning. Which area of Mistica was discovered and populated first and by whom?
Dear Monsono,
From our archives I found mention that Mistica was in fact the brain child and then a reality of our benevolent Goddess Pandoria (much to her sister, Ansidoria's, dismay). Pandoria created Mistica and left the moon of Lysithea, where they had lived together. The rift (created by the sibling spat) broke Lysithea in half. In conclusion, I believe that we emerged not in flash but rather like the growth of a flower. A concept, a daydream, the painstaking, careful formation of who we are today. Imagine figures moving through a thick mist, they seem half formed, indistinct shapes. Then, as the sun rises it burns away the fog, clarifying details and expanding, until our world moves and flows in the fully colored glory of what we see today.
I believe that this is the most un-Moone like response I have ever given. Rest assured that as more clear answers become available, the Moone will be there to tell you all.

Ilaidlaw's pet, the newly created Tobacco, had this question:
Do you ever get to party? I'm sure being the Moone might get boring after a while, having people ask you questions all day.
Dear Tobacco,
My maudlin sense of humor keeps me pretty entertained. Beyond that, I occasionally strap a meatball sub to one of my siblings and convince them to run through a pack of hungry Lirionox.
My greatest party to date was: Sending a box of matches to the Jumboyo Village Orphanage for Mistmas. They were so grateful that they had an enormous bonfire in my honor. I'm still not welcome there. If the Jumboyo Chief asks, you have no idea where to find me.

SuperSheep's pet Rai had this question to ask of the all-knowing Moone:
There's this guy I like... I want to tell him I used to be an assassin, because secrets are bad in a relationship. But, I'm not sure how to tell him. Any advice?
Dear Rai,
Hmm, you could open the conversation with something like: Did you know that there 349 known ways to kill a man with a peanut and only 4 of them are painless? That should blow the issue wide open.
Moone~
