I was casting around for article inspiration and found myself once again on the forums. So, I posted a question to the Mistica Community. My question was: If you could go back in time to the first day you joined Mistica, what advice would you give yourself? The answers I recieved were as diverse as our members are.

Xombear had this to say: I would have told myself to play Chirango and do quests, that way I am not flopping around like some loser with only 5k of MC. xD

It can be hard when you first start out. A trip to the Game Garden may give you just the boost you need to get off on the right foot. Battling Znakes, Pop the Poppet and the Ben Baggz quests are easy ways to score some Mistic Cash in a hurry! We also have great newer features available if you wish to begin a shop and keep your prices competitive.

Rhythm's retrospective wisdom was: If I could go back in time, I would probably tell myself to avoid getting pet slot coins. xD Working on 10 full-fledged profiles is way too much lol. But I cannot resist. I get desires, and go for them. XD

I'm sure many of us can relate! Our fantastic art can inspire pet fever. I've often thought how different my bank account would look with just one pet to pamper.

Here's what Caustic had to say on the matter: I'd definitely tell myself to hold off on new pets for new plotlines when the first, most complicated one still isn't anywhere near finished. -_- Or at least warn myself to start working on this stuff ahead of time.

Melody's input was nearly the same: I would have told myself to take a moment and think before creating pets! I don't have any of the first three or four (or five >>) pets I made; on my first day I was in such a rush to fill my three slots (remember when we only had three slots? =P) that I didn't put much thought into names that meant anything to me. It worked out alright for me in the end, but I still feel bad about some of my old pets that are stuck on inactive accounts now.

Other users have said this as well. Choosing a pet can be a very serious matter. Fortunately if you keep an eye on our newly opened Library, you may find some guidance on the matter sooner or later, but for now just remember to stop and think before filling that slot!

Thunderwing's wisdom was: Oh I know exactly what I would do! I would make sure that when my husband later joined, that he used the referral link (he's an active player, and I have missed out on sooooo many referral points!) When you refer someone, use the referral link! Don't just give them the homepage URL!

This is excellent advice! Your personal referral link can be found by clicking "Referrals" at the bottom of nearly every page onsite. Many items are available for purchase only with RPs (Referral Points). Items such as the Rainbow Shield, Lulu, Checkbook, various stamps and exotic foods are exclusive to the Referral Shop.

Dracotamer46 would have told herself: Hm... To not be so worried about talking to people. Because they are really REALLY nice here. I was just scared of making a bad impression or upsetting someone XD

Aurora's experience at first was very similar and also hopefully unique at the same time: Hmm... not be freaked out about talking to people... and don't accidentally pound my pet. o_O *headdesk* I had a rough first day. lol. xD

We have a fairly friendly community; I have yet to see any reasonable introduction shot down. With a Member Liaison onsite you can count on a warm welcome and some friendly suggestions at the very least.
As for the awful experience Aurora had with the Pound, there are now safe guards in place to help prevent an accidental abandonment.

Krystal's post was associated with the pound as well: If I could, I'd tell myself, "Krystal, you need to suggest safe pet transfers NOW, and not wait until your pet is stolen during pound transfer."
Yeah... that sucked. |D

Which was a wonderful idea by the way! The safe pet transfer has certainly lowered the level of anxiety for many users and like many of our unique features it was suggested by a member of Mistica. So, if you have an epiphany head for the “Suggestions” topic and let us know!

Regretfully, I wasn’t able to include every comment made on the “Time Travel” topic. However, I wanted to thank everyone who responded and I look forward to your input in future articles.
